Born in New York City, raised in Mexico and currently based in Los Angeles, Volen is a cross-border DJ/Producer who has always explored different sounds with his music. Volen first started his musical journey at a young age listening to rock & hip-hop and subsequently delving into electronic music. Among the electronic genres Volen explored included psy-trance, techno and house. But it was his exposure to the sounds of the minimal genre which led Volen to a different form of creating and expression on the decks.

Volen possesses a restless thirst for new music knowledge and is a true vinyl lover who favors a subtle approach which he couples with hypnotic moments and fun samples in his music. Volen has quickly developed into nothing less than one of L.A.ʼs up-and-coming DJs/producers and his evolution now brandishes his own unique style, which features a mixture of break-beat, minimal techno & house style blends.
A1. Sounds like the early days of New York’s Freestyle club music with a darker twist, jacking vocals and a preeminent feeling of loosing your mind but bringing you back with vintage stabs and killer breakbeats.
